Trafficator switch or horn not working ? Check here.
We all know how cool it is to have working trafficators on our Austin’s or Morris’s but they can be such a pain to troubleshoot. When replacing the steering wheel I took the opportunity to repair an intermittent fault in the circuit for the horn. So here’s how.
Follow the instructions in a previous post, ‘Steering wheel Replacement’, to withdraw the trafficator tube.
Firstly remove the horn boss and its chrome from the trafficator tube by undoing three screws located on the rear, two either side of the lever and the other at the 6 o’clock position.
With the boss removed you have access to the horn contacts, two u shaped copped pieces backed by spring steel of the same shape and secured by brass bolts.
